which later in life helps him to rationalise a lot of the seedy geopolitical work he does in blackwatch

is basically always low-key in feelings for ana

honestly his functional relationship experience is ... low
he's far from a playboy tho, like casual romps don't interest him, this again despite natural flirtiness being like +1000
the simplest and truest explanation for this is that he doesn't like to hurt people's feelings

honestly jesse is v much a ronin archetype, like all those movies with speeches that are just like YOU'RE JUST A DOG MEANT TO SERVE A MASTER absolutely pertain to him!! jesse talks a big game but he has kind of an awkward relationship with the entire concept of being his own man; the decision to leave blackwatch was like, the first really independent choice he ever made, and it hollowed him out
